We’ve got some exciting news!

On May 1, 2019, we’re releasing an improved Method experience that we think you’re going to love. It’s cleaner, easier to navigate, and we think it looks gorgeous.

If you can’t wait to see it, you can enable it now in your own account. Follow the instructions on our Method Labs page and start using the new Method UI now.

Read on to see all the changes we’ve made in our brand new look!

A cleaner interface

In the new Method interface, you’ll notice:

  • A collapsible menu: We’ve updated the left menu to take up less space, but if you want the full menu, easily expand it by clicking on the “m” icon.

  • Better navigation: See the word “Dashboard” in the New Interface image below? This header text will now always tell you which app you’re in so you can easily navigate around. In fact, when you are in an app, clicking on this header will take you to the start screen of the app.
  • Minimized apps accessible in left menu: Previously, only apps that were favorited would appear in the left navigation menu. The new interface now has an expandable area under More Apps. This will show you all the apps you have access to in your Method account.

  • App Marketplace in left menu: As you can see in the above image, the App Marketplace is also available in the left navigation menu. This link acts the same way as clicking Add / Remove Apps on your account dashboard.

Updated preferences menu

In the old interface, you could get to your account preferences by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner. Now you’ll see a blue circle icon with the initials of the signed-in user. Upon clicking it, you’ll notice some changes to the menu options:

  1. Preferences from the old interface has now been split into three different options:
    • User Profile
    • Account Settings
    • Integrations
  2. Subscription is now under Account Settings.
  3. When viewing a screen in an app, you will no longer see the Customize option in this menu. See the next section for more details.

Every screen in Method used to have a Customize Screen link that was shown when you clicked the gear icon in the upper right corner. This link has now been moved to a small menu next to the app name header when viewing a screen.

You may also notice a Manage App link in the above image, which allows you to manage the app directly from the screen you are viewing, without first going to the dashboard. This functionality wasn’t previously available.

You can find more information about our new interface, plus instructions to enable it in your account before it officially goes live, in this article.

New! Recurring Activities in Method CRM https://www.method.me/blog/new-recurring-activities-in-method-crm/ Thu, 20 Dec 2018 17:30:41 +0000 https://www.method.me/blog/?p=4338 We all have repeating tasks — but who wants to spend time repeatedly logging them? Save time and stay organized with new recurring activities in Method CRM.

It’s rare to find someone whose job is different every single day. From daily to-do’s to weekly meetings to monthly check-ins, a lot of your tasks likely repeat themselves. But who wants to spend time repeatedly logging those tasks?

The answer is nobody. And that’s why we’re thrilled to announce that as of December 20, 2018, we have introduced recurring activities in Method CRM. This new feature will help users save time and stay organized, no matter how long their to-do lists are.

What are recurring activities?

Method’s activities app has always been a great tool for centralizing your tasks, interactions, and appointments. But up until now, every activity created in Method was a one-time occurrence. So if you wanted to schedule a daily reminder or a bi-weekly meeting, each activity had to be created individually.

Now, you have the ability to create a recurring activity — an activity that repeats on a regular basis. Recurring activities in Method can repeat on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.

How can I use recurring activities?

Note: If you have customized the activities app in your Method CRM account, you will not see the recurrence update. In order to use recurring activities, you will need to add the recurrence widget to your New/Edit Activity’ screen. For more information, visit our help center.

The next time you create a new activity in Method, you will see a new field called Frequency. Clicking the pencil icon allows you to edit the frequency, start and end date, and start and end time of your recurring activities. After you save the activity you’re working on, all of the recurring activities will be created automatically.

Once you have created your recurring activities, you can modify entire schedules or individual activities as necessary. For instance, let’s say you created a dozen weekly client meetings — but you accidentally scheduled them for Mondays instead of Tuesdays. No problem! You can edit the master schedule for the meetings, and all of the individual meetings will update accordingly.

On the other hand, what if you just need to change the day or time for one of your weekly meetings? That’s easy, too. Simply edit the individual activity as needed; the other recurring activities in the schedule will not be affected.

New! Updates to the Web to Lead App https://www.method.me/blog/updates-to-web-to-lead-app/ Tue, 30 Oct 2018 12:15:00 +0000 https://www.method.me/blog/?p=3790 Don't waste time manually entering new sales leads — instead, let your website do the heavy lifting. Here's what's new in Method CRM's web to lead app.

The post New! Updates to the Web to Lead App appeared first on Method.

]]>
New leads are the lifeblood of any business — but who has the time to manually enter lead data?

Method’s web to lead app is a great solution for anyone who wants to spend less time capturing sales info and more time closing sales. With the app, you can embed a public form on your website to capture new leads 24 hours a day. When a potential customer fills out the form, Method automatically logs their information in your CRM and sends an email to your sales team.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve recently released several updates to the web to lead app to improve our users’ lead management experience.

What Has Changed in the Web to Lead App?

New form preferences

When you create or edit a web to lead form, you will see several new preference options. These preferences give you greater control over how your form behaves and how the data submitted through the form is tracked in Method.

Here are some of the new preferences available:

Opportunity Stage: Set the default stage for opportunities created from the submitted web to lead form. Previously, this was always set to Prospecting.

Lead Source: Set the default source for leads created from the submitted web to lead form.  Previously, this was always set to Web.

Redirect to a URL after submission: When checked, leads will be redirected a certain URL after the form is submitted. When unchecked, a thank you message will be displayed. Previously, a thank you message was always displayed.

Send an email to the Customer or Lead / Send an email to the Assigned To user: When checked, an email will be sent to the lead and/or the assigned Method user after the form is submitted. Previously, you could not opt out of sending these emails.

Create multiple forms with unique URLs and preferences

Previously, the web to lead app was only set up to manage one web to lead form. Now, you can create multiple forms within the app. Let’s take a closer look at how this works.

Can each form show different data fields?

By default, each form will show the same standard data fields (name, phone, email, etc.). For advanced users who wish to add or remove certain fields from one of their forms, this can be done by creating a copy of the “Customer Form” screen and customizing that copy.

In the future, all users will be able to manage which fields are shown on which forms directly within the web to lead app — stay tuned!

What are the benefits of creating multiple forms?

Previously, your single web to lead form captured lead information and it was assigned to one Method user with one lead source. But what if you wanted to distinguish between different lead sources, or assign some leads to different users?

With the updated web to lead app, you can create multiple web to lead forms, each with its own URL and unique preferences like those described above. This gives you greater control over how you track and manage your leads within Method.

When could you use multiple forms?

Here’s an example: imagine you’re running lead generation campaigns on Twitter and Facebook. Naturally, you want to track which leads come in through each platform. You also want to divide the workload amongst your sales reps, so Alanna handles the Twitter leads and Errol handles the Facebook leads.

Now it’s easy to set this up! Simply create two forms and set your Lead Source and Assigned To preferences as desired. Each page will have a unique URL that you can share on the designated social platform. When someone clicks one of these links and submits the form, Method will automatically label and assign the new lead appropriately.

View form response metrics

When you open your web to lead app, you will see a list of all of your forms. This list displays new metrics for each form, including number of views, number of responses, and response rate. These metrics can help you assess how each of your forms is performing.

If you have any questions about the updated web to lead app, check out our help center or contact our team!

New! An Improved Method Sync Engine for QuickBooks Desktop https://www.method.me/blog/new-sync-engine-for-quickbooks-desktop/ Thu, 27 Sep 2018 17:30:46 +0000 https://www.method.me/blog/?p=3531 We're pretty proud of our QuickBooks sync — and it just keeps getting better. Here's what you need to know about the new Method Sync Engine.

The post New! An Improved Method Sync Engine for QuickBooks Desktop appeared first on Method.

]]>
As you may know, Method is the CRM industry leader for QuickBooks integration. Our two-way sync with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is something we’re pretty proud of. When QuickBooks syncs with your CRM, your business runs more efficiently — saving you time, money, and headaches.

With that in mind, we’re excited to announce the release of a new Method Sync Engine for QuickBooks Desktop users. The new Sync Engine is available as of September 27, 2018. It offers an improved onboarding experience for new Method users, plus an improved sync experience for existing users — good news all around!

How Can I Get the New Sync Engine?

All QuickBooks Desktop Method accounts created on or after August 30, 2018 will automatically use the new Sync Engine. No further action is required for these accounts.

For QuickBooks Desktop Method accounts created prior to August 30, 2018, you’ll have to uninstall your existing sync engine and install the new sync engine. Your Method and QuickBooks data will not be affected by this process.

Note: After September 30th, 2024, Intuit will no longer sell QuickBooks Desktop (except Enterprise versions) to new U.S. subscribers. If you’re currently using QuickBooks Desktop, this will have no impact on your experience. Method’s integration with QuickBooks Desktop will also remain unaffected.

What Has Changed in the New Sync Engine?

An overview of the new Method Sync Engine is provided below. For more information, see the full release notes here.

  • A new pop-up screen has been added to improve the user experience during the initial setup of the Sync Engine [for new Method accounts only].
  • During the initial sync, QuickBooks data from the past 180 days (instead of 31 days) will be synced to Method [for new Method accounts only].
  • The Sync Engine will display a more detailed sync status, including a timestamp of sync completion.
  • A new pop-up screen offers the ability to queue a sync while a sync is already in progress.
  • Users can now access the Method Help Center directly from the sync engine.
  • And the biggest improvement of all: Method no longer archives your transactions! This means that regardless of what you set your sync date range to be, Method will no longer remove transactions that fall outside this range. So go ahead and set your sync to the last 7 days — you’ll keep your historical transactions in Method, and your full syncs will finish in a fraction of the time.

And that just about covers it! For existing users: we hope the new Sync Engine makes your Method experience even better. And for those who aren’t yet users, but like the sound of a QuickBooks-integrated CRM: sign up for your free trial here.

Happy syncing!
